Ohio EdChoice Scholarships
What is the EdChoice Scholarship?
The Ohio EdChoice Scholarship assists families with the tuition of private education. The state-funded program provides students with the opportunity to attend participating private schools. Every Ohio K-12 student is eligible for a scholarship, and the award amount is determined by the family’s income.
How Do I Apply for the EdChoice Scholarship?
Listed below is a simplified breakdown of the steps required to apply
and receive the EdChoice Scholarship for a student enrolled
at Hametown Christian Academy.
Step 1:
Review the EdChoice Fact Sheet
Click HERE to review eligibility on the Ohio Dept. of Education website. 99% of families at our school will qualify for the full dispersal amount.
Step 2:
Fill out the 2025-2026
EdChoice Request Form & Limited Power of Attorney Form
Click HERE for a PDF copy of the Request Form that will need to be printed, completed, signed for each of your children.

Step 3:
Return all required forms and documents to the HCA office
Required documents:

Student Birth Certificate(s)

Acceptable Proof of Address (Please read this document in full for acceptable forms of proof address)

Proof of Legal Custody (if anyone other than the birth mother has custody)​
Please note:
All documents in Step 3 must be submitted by HCA with the Ohio Dept. of Education before moving onto income verification.
You will be notified by HCA when to proceed with the income verification, or you can check this status on your OHID account - see Step 4.
Step 4:
Create an OHID Parent Account
Click HERE to be taken the Ohio Digital Identity website. This is required to process your child's application and receive tuition funds. It is also used to check the status of your application.
Step 5:
Complete the Income Verification process
This is done through your OHID account or the completed form can be printed and mailed.
There are several acceptable forms of income verification.
Award status of scholarship funds will be available through your
OHID account and parents/guardians will also be notified by HCA.
